Victor Tringali, EdD, CSCS, has more than 30 years of experience in the field of exercise science and health promotion, as an athlete, entrepreneur, scholar, author, and corporate wellness leader. Dr. Tringali currently leads the design and delivery of the Hoos Well initiative, an award-winning well-being program for University of Virginia (UVA) employees and their dependents. In addition to his administrative duties, he holds a faculty appointment at the UVA School of Medicine within the Department of Public Health Sciences, where he founded and co-chairs the UVA Collaborative for Promoting Health and Well-being, an experiential learning and research program for graduate students in the Master of Public Health program. Dr. Tringali holds an additional faculty appointment with the American Military University, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise science, nutrition, and health promotion to members of the U.S. Armed Forces. His areas of expertise and research focus on physical activity and resistance training, including their relationships with health, aging, and work performance.

Before joining UVA, he served six years as the Executive Director of Wellness at Drexel University. During his tenure, he led the nationally recognized A Healthier U wellness initiative and developed a revenue-generating business model for the Drexel Recreation Center, which resulted in the distinction of Philadelphia’s Best Fitness Facility. Prior to his involvement in higher education, he established and managed a health and fitness enterprise comprising multiple facilities offering programs and specialized training for youth and elite athletes, as well as individuals with chronic medical conditions and adaptive needs. He was formerly a world-recognized bodybuilder, winning numerous titles and awards, and was a five-time National finalist. Dr. Tringali has been a keynote speaker and presenter and has written extensively on a variety of topics related to exercise, health, and well-being. In 2025, he published Resisting the Decline– a guide to preserving health and vitality.
