Victor Tringali, EdD, CSCS

is an experienced skilled health and wellness professional with exceptional achievements in both the private and higher education sectors. Dr. Tringali is currently employed by the University of Virginia where he provides leadership for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing administration of wellbeing programming for more than 35,000 University of Virginia and University of Virginia Health System employees and their dependents.
Under his leadership the University’s Hoos Well initiative earned national distinction for excellence in workplace wellbeing by the Business Group on Health, the American Heart Association.

In addition to his administrative duties, Dr. Tringali holds a faculty appointment at the University of Virginia School of Medicine within the Department of Public Health Sciences, and co-chairs the Education Collaborative for Health Promotion and Wellbeing – an experiential learning and research program for graduate students in the Master of Public Health program.  Dr. Tringali previously served as the Executive Director of University Wellness for Drexel University, where he innovated a nationally acclaimed wellness initiative which garnered recognition from the American Heart Association, Wellness Counsel of America, and Philadelphia Business Journal. In 2014, he was honored with the American Heart Association Innovation award for health promotion.

Dr. Tringali has consulted and presented to numerous organizations, including the Employers Health Care and Benefits Congress, the Greater Philadelphia Business Coalition on Health and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Prior to his extensive involvement in workplace health promotion and consultancy, he established and managed a sophisticated health and fitness enterprise consisting of multiple facilities offering numerous programs and specialized training for various populations including youth and elite athletes and those with chronic medical conditions and adaptive needs. Formerly a world-recognized bodybuilder, he ranked among the top fifteen bodybuilders in the nation from 2000-2007.

Dr. Tringali has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and trade publications including: Higher Education Workplace Magazine, Corporate Wellness Magazine, Physical Activity and Health Journal, The Journal of Health Education Research, NSCA Coach, and Muscle and Fitness . He received his doctoral degree from the University of Pittsburgh where his
research focused on physical activity and work ability of older adults. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Dr. Tringali serves on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Health Education Research, and is the sitting Vice-President of the National Consortium for Building Healthy Academic Communities.
